The Lion in Winter Review

From Michael Kennedy of  WKLOS (West Kirby Light Opera Society)

Many Congratulations to the cast, production team and backstage crew on the opening performance. It was the first time I’d seen this play having heard people talking about it for years! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is well written and very witty. All the actors have substantial and challenging roles to play which they do to great effect. It is a real team effort. The vitriol literally drips off the stage at times and the sparks fly in the verbal battles between them. The ever present intrigue and machiavellian plotting keep you on the edge of your seat throughout! The clever staging, subdued lighting and period costuming all add to the play’s authenticity. Well worth seeing if you can! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
